After years of on and off again back problems I decided to visit a chiropractor for the first time. I was having some serious lower back issues when I called Dr. Zobrist for my first appointment. He met with me, talked about my back problems and wanted to hear about my history before he made any adjustments that may or may not have been correct for the situation. I’m happy to say that after a few short sessions with Dr. Zobrist my back felt as good as new! He didn’t pressure me to keep coming to see him after I was feeling better and simply told me to give him a call whenever I needed to come in. I never really understood chiropractic medicine until I visited Dr. Zobrist and he talked me through it. I’m a believer now!” ~Rick C.

FOR
Athletes

No matter what level of athletic movement you participate in, all athletes benefit greatly from regular chiropractic care.  Chiropractic adjustments aid in optimal function of the nervous systems, which is paramount for promoting an athlete’s health and overall well-being.

Even minor misalignments or restrictions in the spine can cause interference with proper messages being sent through the nervous system. Since proper nerve impulses control and direct things like balance, strength, coordination and speed, the effects of improper alignment can be devastating to an athlete. Often, only minor adjustments to the spine are needed to have very positive effects on the nervous system and overall ability.

As any athlete knows, with sports, injuries are part of the game.

It is how these injuries are diagnosed and cared for which dictates speed and success of recovery. Chiropractic care can speed recovery from injuries as well as help the body function at a higher performance level. Fluid Motion Sports and Rehab uses ART (Active Release Technique) to treat a variety of athletic injuries as it has proven its effectiveness throughout Iron Man triathlons and professional teams in the NFL, NHL, MLB, and many other leagues.  Whether you suffer from tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, groin injuries, pain in your shoulders, knees or ankles, ART is useful in treating injuries from head to foot.

FOR
Weekend Warriors

While many people were once great athletes in their youth, we inevitably become adults and enter a new phase of life where the demands of family and work leave us not being as fit as we once were or would like to be.  However, this doesn’t stop us from going all-out as we “play” on the weekends or tackle home projects which are more physically demanding then we would have initially thought.  This type of athlete is frequently referred to as a Weekend Warrior, and while it sounds tough and strong, it can also lead to a variety of injuries because the body is not prepared to handle the strain we put it through on such an irregular basis.

To prevent these weekend warrior injuries and create overall health, doing small things like stretching and exercising a couple of days during the week will help you get back into the habit of working out and make your weekend fun that much better. Mix up your workouts, stay hydrated, listen to your body when it is sore, wear proper footwear, and get plenty of rest. Dr. Z also highly recommends setting up a consult to discuss how you can enjoy your athletic pastimes and hobbies to the fullest and prevent injuries. He welcomes the opportunity to help you with any injuries you may have sustained, but also direct you on how to prevent future injuries.

I won't lie, I was always a little skeptical of chiropractic medicine. Growing up as a gymnast and always being active in sports, I got used to little aches and pains. It wasn't until my most recent injury to my trapezius muscle during a Crossfit workout, which affected my sleep and work that I began to think I needed a different type of medicine. Even after a month of rest, ice, heat, it was still bothering me, especially at work. I am a dentist and am constantly bending my neck and back in different ways to gain proper access/angles to certain areas of the mouth. The pain had gotten so bad, it was hard to lift my left arm over my head to wash my hair. My own home remedies weren't working, and my Crossfit trainers also had suggested a chiropractor. Immediately, I thought of Doug, who I knew I could trust. I went for a few adjustments and sure enough, I found relief! After only two weeks, I was able to go back to regular workouts, sleep better, and work better. I intend to go for follow up care as needed and hopefully prevent this kind of pain in the future. Doug is a great person who believes in and understands his craft. He takes the time needed to know his patients and their needs.” ~Karen
